The Võro Institute will be holding a symposium on “First Names of the Finnic Peoples in the 13th -18th Centuries” in Obinitsa, Estonia, on October 30th, 2015. The focus of this event is to bring together specialists in toponymy and anthroponymy across the Finnic cultures. Invited speakers for the symposium include Olga Karlova, Irma Mullonen (Russia) and Sirkka Paikkala, and Janne Saarikivi (Finland).
