Call for Submissions to A Guide to Literary Onomastics, deadline July 21, 2022

Volume Editor Dorothy Dodge Robbins (past President of the ANS) is soliciting scholarly papers for consideration as chapters in the volume A Guide to Literary Onomastics. The paper must be original to the author (not previously published) and should apply onomastic methods of inquiry to a specific work or works of literature. Special consideration will be given to papers that focus on names and naming practices in works that explore LGBTQ themes or issues. Genres of particular interest include contemporary fiction, young adult fiction (YAF), or graphic literature. While finished chapter-length papers are sought, works in progress may be considered if they are near completion. An abstract of 500 words describing the proposed chapter is due to the Volume Editor by midnight July 21, 2022. Abstracts should be saved as a PDF and sent via email attachment to Dorothy Dodge Robbins at drobbins@latech.edu. The title of the proposed chapter, the name of the author, the author’s affiliation, and an email address at which the author may be reached must be included in the email. All proposals will be subject to blind review.
